Updating sys servers
I am going to uninstall KES8 from the Administration Server and then try to re-install it and see if that helps..I have now wasted two and a half hours trying to fix this.. doesn't anyone test the definitions before they are rolled out to customer networks?Hi, After making some changes to a tape drive, I rebooted the server and am now getting a BSOD from KL1. We are running Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 on the machine with this problem.I googled this and saw it can be related to the definitions, and that the suggestion is to reboot the machine in safe mode and update the definitions. To avoid data loss, you must be sure that you have backed-up all of your important documents, pictures, software installers, and other personal data before beginning the process. If you are not currently backing up your data, you need to do so immediately (download a highly-recommended backup solution) to protect yourself from permanent data loss.
However for some reason Kaspersky decided that by default, the policy for updates would prevent being run manually, which means the only way I can do this is via the Administration kit (or whatever that is called now).
The problem is that the machine experiencing the BSOD is the Administration server, so I cannot update the definitions because the Kaspersky Server service will not start in safe mode.
