A Perth man who was arrested during an investigation into a paedophile ring has been sentenced to 27 months' jail for using an internet chat room to get young girls to engage in sexual behaviour.Mark Wesley Liggins, 47, admitted having contact with five girls, aged between 11 and 15, through an internet chat room called KIK.She said the link had also caused Liggins "maximum angst and hurt".Ms Chong said at the time of the offences Liggins was using amphetamines and alcohol, and he had been using the internet to find friends and companionship.has thousands of Adult members from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast that are looking for adult fun with internet dating.However today Liggins' lawyer, Patti Chong, told the District Court while her client had been "in communication" with the father, which led to police searching his home, none of the charges related to the 13-year-old girl."He has, not in any way, offended against that girl," she said.Ms Chong said as a result of Liggins "incorrectly" being named as part of the paedophile ring, his home had been targeted by vigilantes.
He engaged in sexual conversations with them and requested they send him nude or semi-nude photos of themselves, which they did.
He also sent explicit photos of himself to them and encouraged them to put him in contact with other young girls.
