Oab exchange 2016 not updating
I want to provide some hints on things that need to be checked in order to follow the OAB generation and publishing process from the server to the client. While checking this list, the administrator can be sure that the OAB has been generated successfully and check if it has been published at the place where the Outlook client is expecting to find it.Seems like it takes a full day before the 2013 outlook users are up to date.I have tried to manually download the offline global address list and this does not work either. At the end of this post, I will give a recommendation regarding the best way in my opinion for rolling out a new OAB to your whole user base, in case you face a situation where a full OAB download for all Outlook clients is necessary.Throughout the last weeks I have seen two different issues that prevented Outlook clients from downloading the OAB (Offline Address Book). One affected public-folder based OAB distribution and the other affected web-based distribution.
Hoping there is something in outlook 2013 that I can use to fix this or something in exchange. This is an article written by Frank Plawetzki, a Senior PFE from Deutschland, and originally published on Opsvault. The other day I was troubleshooting an issue where users were not able to download the Offline Address Book (OAB).After some troubleshooting steps, I ran the Outlook Auto Configuration Test and noticed that the URL for the OAB was not listed: To further test the OAB, beside manually downloading it in Outlook, you can write down the OAB URL, paste it into the address box in Windows Internet Explorer, add /to the end of the path, and then press Enter.
We are currently using exchange 2013 and most users have outlook 2010, there are a few users that have outlook 2013.
When we make a change in AD or Exchange the outlook 2010 global address books update immediately and automatically, but the outlook 2013 users do not.
